Hitting the Road This Holiday Season? What You Need to Pack

‘Tis the season to hit the road and visit friends and family. The holidays are the perfect time to get together and enjoy the magic of the season with loved ones near and far. Unfortunately, this is also the time of the year when winter weather may also start to complicate road travel. Before you head out on the road, you are going to want to make sure that your vehicle is equipped with a variety of emergency essentials.

Roadside Emergency Tool Kit

While you can piece together everything that you need for a roadside emergency separately, you will likely save yourself both time and money by purchasing a comprehensive kit. Look for a set that contains all of the gear that you will need should you suffer a vehicle breakdown. Good items include a pair of jumper cables, electrical tape, and a tire pressure gauge. Essentials to Stay Warm

It is also smart to pack along essentials to stay warm should you find yourself stranded. A heavy blanket and warm socks may be what keep you comfortable until help can arrive. Hand warmers are another great thing to throw in your glovebox because they do not take up much room and you can use them to warm both your hands and your feet.

Regardless of the conditions outside, it is always a good idea to have plenty of vehicle supplies before you set out on the road of adventure. Recommended items to keep you comfortable on a long drive include non-perishable snacks, bottled drinks, hand sanitizer, a first aid kit, tissues, and wet wipes. Having all of this in your vehicle will ensure that you are ready to handle a variety of situations while enjoying a comfortable driving experience.
